Unterpleichfeld, Germany – The qualification of Inconel 625 and Titanium Aluminide TiAl4822 with leading mechanical properties for ColdMetalFusion is part of Headmade’s roadmap to support a wide range of materials for the ColdMetalFusion standard, which enables mass production throughput without sacrificing part performance and repeatability.

Titanium Aluminide TiAl4822 is part of the titanium aluminide group, the intermetallic compounds of titanium and aluminum. The alloy TiAL4822 has excellent mechanical properties, oxidation and corrosion resistance as well as high-temperature strength, making it ideal for advanced aerospace and innovation manufacturing. This material was developed together with Element22, an expert in high volume Titanium part manufacturing with the ColdMetalFusion process.

Inconel 625 is a nickel-based superalloy with high strength, featuring excellent heat and corrosion resistance. Thanks to these characteristics it is a perfect fit for components in corrosive environments, which is why Inconel 625 is mainly used in the aerospace and oil & gas industries. Headmade Materials' Inconel 625 is also characterized by the superior mechanical performance for which the ColdMetalFusion standard is known. After heat treatment, Inconel 625 achieves a tensile strength of 789 MPa and an elongation of up to 38% (exceeding the ASTM B443 standard).

“We are delighted to the release of Inconel 625 and Titanium Aluminide TiAl4822 for the ColdMetalFusion standard. Our new offerings will allow ColdMetalFusion users the production of complex metal parts with superior performance and we believe this offering is highly demanded across many industries” says Christian Staudigel, Managing Director of Headmade Materials.

On the Formnext exhibition in November in Frankfurt, Germany, Headmade Materials showcase Inconel 625 and Titanium Aluminide TiAl4822in hall 11.1, booth D58.
